AI-POWERED WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT PLATFORM
Sector: HealthTech / B2B SaaS
Services: Market sizing, competitor analysis, geographic prioritization

A digital platform designed to support continuing education for dental professionals by centralizing training content, accreditation requirements, and learning management tools in one place.
About the project
This project supported the U.S. market expansion strategy of an established workforce management platform operating at scale in Canada.

The platform serves multiple labor-intensive and highly regulated sectors, including emergency services, transportation, and industrial operations.
Given the diversity of industries involved, the objective was not to identify a single national target, but to determine which U.S. states made the most strategic sense for each sector, based on market size, workforce dynamics, regulatory environments, and local conditions.
The strategic challenge
The platform’s solution applied across distinct industries, each with different:
-
Operational realities
-
Regulatory frameworks
-
Workforce pressures
Expansion decisions could not rely on a uniform, nationwide approach.
The team needed to determine:
-
Which industries presented the strongest state-level opportunities
-
How many relevant organizations existed in each state per sector
-
How workforce trends and regulatory environments differed geographically
-
Where competitive solutions were already established — and where gaps were more apparent
Answering these questions required evaluating multiple sectors across all U.S. states, then progressively narrowing the scope to a defensible set of priority states for each segment.
Research focus
I led a large-scale, multi-phase research effort to support sector and geographic prioritization for U.S. expansion.
The work unfolded in three structured phases:
01 — Nationwide Industry & State Evaluation
Analyzing the number and distribution of relevant organizations across all U.S. states to identify where concentration and potential demand were highest.
This informed an initial prioritization of states by sector.
02 — In-Depth State Analysis
For selected priority states, I examined:
-
Workforce and industry trends
-
Regulatory and operational considerations
-
Local market conditions specific to each sector
03 — Competitive Ecosystem Mapping
Assessing national and regional solutions operating within each sector to understand competitive density and positioning.
Once priority states and sectors were clearly defined and supported by evidence, I compiled targeted lists of potential client organizations and key contacts to support future outreach and business development efforts.
The outcome
The research enabled the team to:
-
Prioritize U.S. states by sector using structured, multi-factor evaluation
-
Align expansion strategy with state-specific realities rather than a uniform national approach
-
Confirm strong alignment between the platform’s value proposition and markets facing acute staffing and operational pressure
-
Equip internal teams with targeted prospect lists and structured insights to support expansion planning
This work translated a complex, multi-sector opportunity into a focused and defensible expansion strategy grounded in real market conditions.
