EDUCATIONAL DENTAL PLATFORM

About the project

This project centered on an early-stage digital platform focused on the delivery and management of continuing education for dental professionals.

Operating within a fragmented and evolving ecosystem, the team sought clarity on:

  • The size of the market opportunity

  • The presence and positioning of existing solutions

  • Differences in market maturity across North America and France

The research was designed to support market validation and assess whether the platform’s approach addressed a real and differentiated need before advancing further.

The strategic challenge

The dental continuing education ecosystem includes:

  • Dedicated digital platforms

  • Aggregators

  • Professional associations

  • Independent education providers

This fragmentation made it difficult to determine where meaningful opportunities still existed — and whether the right regions were being prioritized.

The team needed clarity on several key questions:

  • How large is the addressable market?

  • Which competitors already exist, and how do their offerings differ?

  • How mature is the market in North America versus France?

  • Which geographic regions present the strongest near-term potential?

Research focus

I led the research phase of the project, focusing on market sizing, competitor analysis, and geographic prioritization.

The work included:

01 — Market Sizing & Segmentation
Estimating overall market size and identifying key segments within dental continuing education.

02 — Competitive Landscape Mapping
Identifying direct and indirect competitors across Canada, the United States, and France, and comparing positioning, pricing models, and feature sets.

03 — Trend Analysis
Analyzing trends across online, in-person, and hybrid education models.

04 — Geographic Prioritization
Assessing regions based on professional concentration, regulatory requirements, and overall market readiness.

The research combined structured secondary research with comparative analysis to deliver a clear, evidence-based view of the landscape.

The outcome

The research provided:

  • Evidence of underlying demand, supporting the relevance of the problem being addressed

  • A clearer understanding of how existing solutions are positioned

  • Signals that the product offered meaningful differentiation within the current ecosystem

  • A structured basis for evaluating positioning and geographic focus
